Job overview

The post of Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Dermatology at Birmingham Children’s Hospital NHS Trust (BCH) provides 12 months of supervised experience for individuals intending to practice as a dermatologist with a special interest in paediatric dermatology or for paediatricians with an interest in paediatric dermatology wishing to develop their experience further/work towards SPIN accreditation. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a minimum of one-year general dermatology experience.

Qualifications/Training

Essential criteria
  • MBBS/MBChB or equivalent
  • MRCP or MRCPCH
  • Full GMC registration
  • Minimum one year experience in general Dermatology or Undertaking the Paediatric Dermatology SPIN Module
Desirable criteria
  • Awards for academic achievement
  • CCT in Dermatology or within 6 months of achieving it OR ST6 plus in Paediatrics

Knowledge & Nature of Experience

Essential criteria
  • Broad experience of general dermatology OR Broad experience of paediatric dermatology
  • Demonstrate previous experience of Paediatric Dermatology
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrate previous tertiary experience of Paediatric Dermatology
  • Paediatric experience
  • Expertise in a clinically relevant sub-specialty

Analytical and judgement skills

  • Completed audit projects
Desirable criteria
  • Audit relevant to paediatric dermatology
